You can add a channel at any time, for example a private channel for supporters next to your public show.

Step 1: Open New channel

Click Channels in the left menu, then New channel.

Step 2: Choose the kind of channel

Choose Public channel or Private channel. If you’re not sure, see Public and private channels explained.

The New channel page with Private channel selected, the name Supporters and self-serve signup turned on
Everything a new channel needs fits on one page.

Step 3: Name it

Type the name podcast apps should show, such as Supporters or Members. Leave it blank to use your show’s name for a public channel, or Your Show (Private) for a private one.

Step 4: Decide about existing episodes

If your show already has episodes, choose what happens to them:

  • Add all episodes, with their original release dates: the new channel starts with your whole back catalog.
  • Start empty: only episodes you publish from now on go out here.

You can add or remove any episode later from the channel’s Episodes tab.

Step 5: Choose whether people can sign up (private channels)

For a private channel, Allow self-serve signup gives the channel a link people can use to sign themselves up. Untick it if you’d rather only invite people by email. You can change this later. See Let listeners sign themselves up.

Step 6: Create it

Click Create channel. The channel opens on its Overview tab, with a checklist of anything left to set up, such as cover art or inviting your first listener.
